Completed in partnership with the Prospect Park Alliance, a drainage overhaul reduces persistent pooling and flooding issues, improves infiltration, and helps the Longmeadow Ball Fields recover faster after increasingly frequent and severe rainstorms.
We worked with frequent collaborator Sunnyside Masonry to break up compacted soils and add fresh infield clay – two steps to help water percolate more quickly back into the ground.
We think of this work as restorative – a process of repair that allows the landscape, and the designed park, to function as originally intended.
