A combination of wet- and dry-laid pavers allows for water protection near the building’s foundation wall and permeability towards the back of the garden where a French drain runs the entire width of the space. Topped with ornamental gravel and a row of stepping stone pavers, the drain also serves as a display area for the owner’s collection of 20th century architectural stone pieces salvaged from around the city.
